Melt Flow Indexer for Thermoplastic Materials MFR ASTM D1238 ISO 1133

Melt flow indexer is used to determine the melt mass flow rate (MFR) of thermoplastic resins. The melt flow index tester from Wewon Environmental Chambers Co., Ltd. is suitable for engineering plastics such as polycarbonate, nylon, fluoroplastic and polyarene with high melting temperature. It is also suitable for testing plastics with low melting temperatures such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene polyoxymethylene resin, and ABS resin.

What is the Melt Flow Index (MFR/MVR) Test?

Melt flow index is one of the ways to measure the fluidity of molten plastic. Melt flow rate (MFR) and melt volume rate (MVR) are both numerical values that represent the fluidity of thermoplastic resin during the melting process. It has been standardized in ASTM, ISO and other standards. The specific steps are to fill the cylinder (heating furnace) with pellets or powder, wait for the specified preheating time, and then apply the molten resin with the specified load. Finally, measure the amount of resin extruded from the die installed at the bottom of the cylinder every 10 minutes.
